Why 2027 Polls Will Be Easy Victory for Tinubu — Rep Abejide

Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Customs, Leke Abejide, has expressed strong confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure an easy re-election victory in the 2027 general elections.

Abejide made the statement on Friday during an appearance on *Politics Today*, a Channels Television programme. He said the president’s policies and ongoing reforms have earned him widespread public support, positioning him favourably ahead of the next polls.

According to the lawmaker, economic indicators are beginning to show improvement, particularly in poverty reduction and food prices, which he said have started to stabilise. He argued that these developments have boosted public confidence in the current administration.

Abejide also pointed to improved salary payments across the country, noting that civil servants at both federal and state levels are now receiving their wages more regularly.

“I don’t think there is any state where workers are still being owed salaries,” he said, adding that this has significantly improved workers’ welfare and morale.

He maintained that if the current trajectory continues and further gains are recorded in the coming year, President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 would be largely uncontested.

“With what people are seeing now and what is still to come, the election will be a smooth ride for the president,” Abejide concluded.
