A Nigerian woman has shared personal insights on social media about how she has maintained a stable and peaceful marriage for five years.
According to her, the foundation of her successful marriage is patience, self-control and understanding the right time to communicate. She explained that one practice that helped her avoid unnecessary conflict was choosing not to respond immediately when her husband was angry or raising his voice.
She said remaining calm during tense moments prevented arguments from escalating. The woman credited her upbringing for this approach, noting that her mother taught her to stay composed even when provoked.
In her words, she believes that talking back during heated moments often worsens situations. Instead, she prefers to wait until emotions have settled before expressing her feelings.
She also highlighted the importance of timing in communication. Rather than confronting issues during arguments, she advised discussing concerns when her husband is relaxed or in a good mood, such as during a pleasant meal or a peaceful moment at home.
She explained that creating a positive atmosphere makes it easier to raise sensitive topics without triggering further conflict. By approaching conversations gently and respectfully, she said she has been able to address misunderstandings without damaging the bond in her marriage.
The woman encouraged single women to reflect on these principles before entering marriage, stressing that emotional maturity and patience are essential for a lasting relationship.
Her message centered on one key idea: maintaining peace in marriage often requires wisdom, timing and the ability to manage emotions carefully.
