Tinubu: Boko Haram Defeated Within First Year in Office_____Akume

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, announced that President Bola Tinubu has successfully defeated Boko Haram terrorists within his first year in office. Akume made this statement during a book launch in Abuja, celebrating the accomplishments of President Tinubu since taking office on May 29, 2023.

In a statement released on Thursday by John Ameh, media aide to the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Nicholas Ella, Akume praised Tinubu for his success in combatting Boko Haram and addressing the criminal activities of kidnappers with law enforcement efforts.

“There is no doubt about President Bola Tinubu’s significant achievements over the past year. Under his leadership, the federal government has defeated Boko Haram terrorists,” Akume declared. He also commended Tinubu for the infrastructural progress made, including the construction of numerous roads across Nigeria and the development of the Abuja Metro Rail.

Additionally, the Defence Headquarters reported that between May 21 and May 23, 2024, a total of 103 Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists, along with their families, surrendered to the Nigerian military in Borno State. Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, revealed this during the bi-weekly press briefing, noting that the surrendered individuals included 13 adult males, 29 adult females, and 61 children in Mafa, Bama, Gwoza, and Monguno Local Government Areas of Borno State.
