Seven Killed in Anambra Road Accident
A tragic accident occurred in Anambra State when a lorry collided with six other vehicles. The incident took place around 10 a.m. at Obosi, in the Idemili North Local Government Area, along the Onitsha-Owerri Expressway. Reports suggest that the crash was caused by revenue agents of the state government.
According to FIRST Class Gists, the lorry, allegedly being chased by these agents, rammed into two tricycles, two Hiace buses, and a private car. An eyewitness mentioned that some passengers were still trapped in the wreckage.
However, the state governor’s Press Secretary, Chris Aburime, denied the involvement of government agents. He expressed deep regret over the incident, stating, “Honestly, it’s regrettable and unfortunate.” Aburime also noted that many agberos (louts) operate in the area, which the administration has been trying to control. He assured that those responsible for the accident would be apprehended.
