How a Young Boy was Arrested for Stabbing Friend to Death in Niger

A young boy, Mohammed Isah, has been taken into custody by the police in Niger State after allegedly stabbing his friend, Nurudeen Nuhu, to death during a dispute over a mobile phone.
According to reports from First Class Gists, the altercation between the two friends took place in the abattoir area of Kwata Tayi village, Minna. The disagreement escalated, leading to Mohammed Isah allegedly stabbing Nurudeen Nuhu in the stomach.
The incident reportedly occurred yesterday morning. Nurudeen collapsed immediately after being stabbed and was quickly transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Niger State Command, confirmed the incident to First Class Gists. He stated, “It was reported at the GRA Division that there was a fight between Mohammed Isah of Angwan-Biri and Nurudeen Nuhu of Angwan-Daji at the Abattoir area of Kwata Tayi village over a handset issue. During the fight, Mohammed Isah allegedly stabbed Nurudeen in the stomach. Police operatives from the Division responded and rushed the victim to the General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.”
Abiodun also mentioned that Mohammed Isah has been arrested and a preliminary investigation is currently underway. He will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
In light of the incident, police patrol teams have been deployed to the area to maintain order and prevent any retaliatory actions, as the location is known for youth restiveness.
