Decomposing Body of Female Student Discovered on UNN Campus

A tragic incident occurred at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) on the evening of Friday, July 5, 2024, when a decomposing body was found wrapped and dumped in a drainage system on campus.

The discovery was made near the UNN stadium junction and Eni-Njoku Boys Hostel, on the busy road leading to Behind Flats. Students returning from evening lectures stumbled upon the corpse, prompting the UNN security department to respond swiftly. The body was transported to the university medical center morgue, and the crowd gathered at the scene was dispersed.

According to reports from Myschoolnews, a 100-level female student from the Medical Laboratory Science department has been missing since Tuesday, following a Chem 171 practical session. The decomposing body found in the drainage is suspected to be that of the missing student. The strong odor emanating from the body suggests it had been there for some time.

Investigations are underway to determine whether the body was placed at the scene by unknown individuals or if it had remained unnoticed for an extended period. Students who witnessed the incident captured photos and videos, which have since gone viral on social media.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and further details are expected as the investigation continues. Stay tuned for updates.
