Governor Dapo Abiodun Calls Nigerians Protesting Economic Hardships “Sore Losers”

Governor Dapo Abiodun has criticized Nigerians protesting the severe economic difficulties caused by President Bola Tinubu’s policies, labeling them as “sore losers.”

In an interview with Channel TV on Thursday night, Abiodun attributed the nationwide #EndHunger protests to the machinations of politicians defeated by Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.

Abiodun remarked, “Tinubu’s victory in the election clearly indicates that those who supported him outnumbered his opponents. The current protests are driven by those unable to accept this outcome.”

He continued, “The issue we face today is that Nigerians are sore losers. Instead of accepting the democratic process and waiting until the next election in 2027 to express their dissatisfaction, some are instigating anonymous and leaderless protests.”

Under President Tinubu, Nigeria’s inflation rate has surged to 34%, and food prices have skyrocketed. Despite the International Monetary Fund’s praise for Tinubu’s economic reforms, including fuel subsidy removal and currency unification, the country’s economy has deteriorated.
