News now : Willie Collum whispers emerge after what happened in Rangers…

Keith Jackson has insisted that Willie Collum may have sorted out the handball rule after what happened in Rangers 0-0 draw against Hearts.

Writing in the print edition of the Daily Record (5 August, page 41) Jackson said it’s only to be whispered but after the Connor Barron incident, the rule could finally be ironed out.

VAR also had a part to play as they also didn’t step in, like they did so many times last season in the Scottish Premiership.

Jackson wrote: “That there’s nothing much between the two if Hearts keep hold of Lawrence Shankland the pair might be locked in a battle for second place this season.

“And, whisper it, Willie Collum might have sorted out VAR and the handball rule.”

Philippe Clement still has work to do at Rangers

The Gers and Hearts opened up the Scottish Premiership during their game over the weekend.

Following the many additions that Philippe Clement has made over the summer, it wasn’t exactly the amazing start to the season that may had hoped.

Whilst new signing Barron was at the centre of attention for his possible handball incident, he was actually one of the better players on the pitch.

The game came too soon for Dutchman Robin Propper but there’s no doubt that his added experience will help shore up the defence at Ibrox.

Although many arrivals have been brought to the Ibrox camp, it’s clear that the club still have plenty of work to do if they wish to dethrone Celtic this term.

Brendan Rodgers’ men smashed Kilmarnock 4-0 in their first game which showcases the gulf in quality between the two teams.

Granted, it’s still early in the season but it feels like unless more changes are made, history will repeat itself once again.
