UNIBEN professor faces panel over alleged sexual harassment

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has set up a panel to look into allegations of sexual harassment against a professor from the Faculty of Arts.
This decision follows a social media complaint by a graduate who alleged that she was harassed by the professor during her time as an undergraduate.
While the university has not released the professor’s name, a circular from the institution, obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Saturday, invites staff and students with relevant information or those who might have been affected to come forward.
The circular emphasized that the information provided will support a thorough and impartial investigation, with assurances that all identities will be kept confidential and information handled with the highest level of discretion.
