Over 50 Armed Robbers Strike Angwan Albarka in FCT Neighbouring Settlement

On the early morning of August 13, 2024, the residents of Angwan Albarka, a neighborhood bordering Abacha Road and the FCT in Nasarawa State, were thrown into chaos as more than 50 armed robbers invaded the area around 2 a.m.
Eyewitnesses, including children, reported that the robbers, armed with guns and machetes, breached the premises by cutting barbed wire fences, dismantling metal balcony protectors, and breaking doors. Under threat of violence, they forced residents to hand over their SIM cards, ATM cards with PINs, phones, laptops, and other electronic devices. Children were also targeted, with robbers stealing their earrings and jewelry, claiming they were made of gold.
This attack mirrors a similar robbery pattern reported in the Kuchyiako area of Masaka a few months earlier. The robbers, usually speaking Hausa, operate in large groups, and their swift, brutal tactics are well-coordinated.
As of the time of this report, it is unclear whether the incident has been reported to the Abacha Road Police Station.
