News now: Everton to submit Alisson bid to seal new striker transfer…
Everton are expected to submit a bid in the next few days to secure the services of Atletico-MG striker Alisson, according to Goal Brazil.
The news outlet reported on 19 August that he’s got a release clause of £51.2million for clubs abroad.
It’s understood that the Brazilian club are waiting for an offer from the Toffees for the 18-year-old, who’s also capable of playing on the wings.
Everton are surely not going to pay north of £50million for Alisson
The Toffees’ pursuit of Alisson, despite his potential, must be critically evaluated against the club’s current needs and financial strategy.
The £50million+ valuation for an 18-year-old, versatile but primarily a striker, seems steep for a side that are under financial scrutiny and need to prioritise their spending.
Everton already roped in Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom, indicating a focus on signings in the final third, but the dire need for a defender remains unaddressed.
Alisson, while promising, would primarily add depth or competition to the forward line, where they already have options.
Investing in a defender and a more seasoned midfielder would better serve the club’s immediate tactical needs, ensuring stability and competitiveness in the Premier League, rather than spending heavily on a young striker who might not immediately strengthen the first team.
Unless the Brazilian club are willing to considerably reduce their fee, this deal does not look likely to happen. In other Everton news, the Toffees are now on red alert as a Goodison-linked striker has been left out of the matchday squad.
