Gunmen Kidnap PDP Leader Benedict Akika in Oyo; See Number Shot Dead

Benedict Akika, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a close associate of Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde, was reportedly abducted by armed assailants late Wednesday night. The incident occurred at Akika’s home in Idi-Ape, located along the Akobo Ojurin-Olohunda road in Ibadan.

Initial reports indicate that one person was killed during the abduction, although details about the event are still emerging. Authorities are actively handling the situation, but as of now, there have been no further updates. Efforts to reach Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso, for additional information were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
