Kidnappers
The remains of Shile Ogunmolasuyi, a recent secondary school graduate who was abducted alongside her mother, Yemi Ogunmolasuyi, have been discovered. Shile, who was kidnapped with her mother and another woman, Caroline Taiwo, on August 31 near Oyimo River along the Emure-Eporo Road in Ekiti State, was tragically raped to death by her captors.
The group of seven kidnappers had ambushed the victims’ vehicle, which was returning to Akure after a family event in Emure. During the attack, Oluwole Taiwo, the driver and husband of one of the kidnapped women, was killed.
Shile’s mother and Caroline Taiwo were released on September 3 after a ransom of N10 million was paid. The ransom was delivered on the Owo-Ikare-Benin Road in Owo, Ondo State, and the victims were freed around 1:30 AM on September 4.
Shile, however, was reportedly killed after she became too weak to walk due to the repeated assaults by her kidnappers. Following her mother’s release, local security forces, including the Amotekun corps and Agro Marshal in Emure, began a search for Shile’s body.
Her decomposed remains were eventually found in a bush near Ago Panu village in Ondo State on Sunday. In a video obtained by FIRST CLASS GISTS, local security personnel were seen preparing the body for removal.
Niyi Awopetu, Secretary of the Emure Progressives Association, confirmed the discovery of Shile’s body but had no information about her burial arrangements at the time of reporting.
The kidnapping incident on August 31 was the third such event in the Emure area this year. Previously, on January 29, five students, three teachers, and a driver from Apostolic Faith Children School were abducted on the same road. Additionally, Mrs. Atinuke Adanikin, the wife of a retiree, was kidnapped in the ar
ea on July 13.
