Labour Party Accuses Peter Obi, Aisha Yesufu, and Others of Massive Fraud, Demands Investigations

The Labour Party, under the leadership of Barrister Julius Abure (National Chairman) and Alhaji Farouk Umar Ibrahim (National Secretary), has called for a probe by the National Security Adviser and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into allegations of fraud and embezzlement involving Peter Obi, Aisha Yesufu, Pastor Itua Ighodalo, and other prominent figures.

In a press conference today, the Labour Party accused Yesufu of involvement in a criminal scheme to divert substantial funds—over ₦12 billion and $15 million—from the party’s presidential campaign account. The party claims Yesufu, along with Pastor Ighodalo and others, mismanaged these donations, and has criticized Yesufu’s denials as a cover-up.

The Labour Party further alleges that Peter Obi, described as a “political merchant,” orchestrated these fraudulent activities. Additionally, figures like Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Akin Osuntokun, and Sola Ebiseni are accused of holding over ₦600 million in private accounts related to Afenifere, a socio-political organization, allegedly under Obi’s direction.

The party is demanding a thorough investigation into all financial dealings linked to these accusations, including scrutinizing bank accounts associated with Adebanjo, Osuntokun, and Ebiseni. They emphasize their commitment to transparency and dismiss any attempts to undermine their leadership as destabilizing tactics.

The Labour Party awaits responses from the accused individuals and the outcomes of the investigations requested from the National Security Adviser and EFCC.
