How 19-Year-Old Allegedly Kills Friend in Lagos Stabbing Incident

A 19-year-old, Fatimo Agboke, is accused of fatally stabbing her friend, Faruk Azeez, following an argument in Lagos’s Ijegun area on Monday night.

The altercation occurred around 9:20 PM. Despite urgent efforts to get the 20-year-old victim, Faruk Azeez, to the hospital, he unfortunately died from his injuries.

Lagos State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, reported that Azeez’s father informed the Isheri Oshun Division after a neighbor alerted him about the incident. The complaint detailed that an argument between Azeez and Agboke escalated into violence, with Agboke allegedly stabbing Azeez in the neck with a broken bottle.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found Azeez deceased with a severe neck wound. His body has been taken to Mainland General Hospital in Yaba for an autopsy.

SP Hundeyin confirmed that Agboke has been arrested and is currently in custody. He emphasized that a comprehensive investigation is in progress to uncover all details of the incident.

“This tragic event is deeply regrettable,” Hundeyin remarked. “We are committed to ensuring that justice is served and are thoroughly investigating all aspects of this case.”

The Ijegun community is in shock over Azeez’s sudden death, remembering him as a promising young individual. The police are calling on anyone with further information to come forward as the investigation continues.
