Singer Humblesmith Opens Up About Losing His Passion for Music

Singer Humblesmith, famous for his hit “Osinachi,” recently shared how he lost his drive to create new music during his career.

In discussing his latest track, “Sochi,” he revealed, “This is the first song I’ve recorded this year. I had promised myself I wouldn’t return to the studio or release anything new. At one point, I lost my motivation to record, but this song reignited my passion. The desire to make a comeback inspired me to create something fresh, and I’m grateful to God for that.”

Humblesmith also spoke candidly about the emotional toll of not receiving royalties from “Osinachi” and other songs he made while signed to N-Tyze. He explained, “I haven’t been getting any royalties or income from my music. Even when I released songs under N-Tyze, I didn’t see a penny. People assume I’m making a fortune from my work, but that’s far from the truth. It’s really disheartening to see my songs appreciated by fans while I don’t benefit financially.”

Reflecting on the challenges within the music industry, he noted, “There are some things I can’t share publicly, but I trust that God will help us through our struggles. I’ve witnessed the darker side of this industry and learned that it can be a lonely place. It often feels like there’s a closed circle that controls everything. At one point, it seemed like no one wanted to support me or listen to my music, which indicates I might have been blackballed based on others’ opinions.”
