Why Christian Women Should Embrace Submission in Marriage

The Word “Marriage Is Just For Once” Is A Scam Don't Fall For It

Before diving into this topic, let’s begin with these foundational scriptures:

Ephesians 5:25: “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave Himself for it.”

Ephesians 5:22: “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.”

In a Christian marriage, the husband’s role is to lead with love, respect, care, and attention, not to domineer or control. A husband should be a leader who guides with wisdom, humility, and flexibility. He should cherish his wife, valuing her opinions and insights, especially when it comes to matters where she may have godly wisdom or understanding.

For the wife, submission is an expression of respect and honor to her husband. Think of yourself as the “deputy” or “vice president” of the home, offering support and guidance while submitting to your husband in areas that align with God’s will. However, it’s important to note that submission does not mean complying with anything that contradicts God’s Word. If something goes against God’s commands, submission does not apply.

Both husband and wife are called to be humble, kind, and respectful. Marriage is not a space for toxicity, rudeness, or hostility. When both partners seek to build each other up in love, they create a strong foundation for their relationship, one that resists the influence of the enemy.

In conclusion: Husbands are called to love their wives, and wives are called to submit to their husbands in the Lord. A vital piece of wisdom I once heard is: “Marry someone you can respect.” This is key to building a marriage rooted in mutual love and honor.

Happy Sunday!
