In a shocking incident in Mbayenge, Benue State, on 21st of December an ex-wife set fire to her former husband’s house and farm, reportedly as an act of revenge. The woman, who had been left heartbroken after her boyfriend married another woman, allegedly targeted her ex-husband’s property out of anger. She pretended to come and celebrate Christmas with his child
According to FIRST CLASS GISTS, her ex-husband, a 27-year-old man, has married six wives and fathered six children with different women. On the day of the incident, her ex-husband, his mother, and children had gone to the farm, leaving the house unattended. Seizing this opportunity, the ex-wife set fire to the house, burning food items and other valuable items.
She was apprehended by youths of the town while attempting to flee away. Authorities have indicated that her family has promised to compensate for the damages caused. The motive behind this destructive act appears to stem from unresolved personal issues, with the ex-wife’s deep sense of betrayal playing a key role in the tragedy.
