Ex Sokoto Governor Bafarawa Dump PDP, Embraces New Youth Empowerment Movement; Give Reasons

Attaining the role of Governor of Sokoto State in 1999 and securing re-election in 2003 under the ANPP, Bafarawa has now decided to part ways with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Today, I formally announce my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a decision that has been both deeply personal and challenging. This choice stems from my unwavering commitment to a new path of service that aligns with my vision of empowering and uplifting Nigeria’s youth.

For years, I have had the privilege of being part of the PDP, a political platform that has played a crucial role in shaping the nation’s development and advancing democratic ideals. However, I am now focused on a new youth movement, one that is dedicated to inspiring, equipping, and transforming the lives of young Nigerians—the true future of our country.

To ensure there is no conflict of interest between my previous political affiliations and my new mission, I have chosen to step away from the PDP. My energy and resources will now be fully directed toward creating opportunities for youth empowerment, innovation, and fostering the values that will lead us to a brighter and more prosperous future.

I am grateful for the experiences and opportunities I’ve had to contribute to the party’s goals. I commend its leadership and members for their tireless efforts to advance democracy and governance in Nigeria.

As I embark on this new journey, I kindly ask for your understanding and wish the PDP ongoing success in all its future endeavors.
