“I’ll Oppose Any Ticket That Makes Obi a Running Mate” — Aisha Yesufu Declares

Nigerian activist and vocal supporter of Peter Obi, Aisha Yesufu, has made her position clear ahead of the 2027 presidential election: she will not support any political ticket where Peter Obi is relegated to the role of a running mate.
In a video recently shared on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Yesufu strongly objected to the idea of Obi taking the backseat on any presidential ticket. She argued that it’s a pattern in politics to sideline influential figures or women by offering them deputy roles, a practice she firmly rejects.
According to her, Peter Obi is a capable and competent leader who should be at the forefront of any presidential campaign, not playing second fiddle. Her stance reflects broader concerns about political tokenism and the marginalization of qualified individuals in leadership.
Peter Obi has already announced his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, a move that seems to align with Yesufu’s expectations for him to seek the highest office, not a supporting role.
