KRAD Mourns the Passing of Senator Ajibola Basiru’s Mother
*KRAD Mourns the Passing of Senator Ajibola Basiru’s Mother*
I received, with profound sadness, news of the passing of the beloved mother of the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Distinguished Senator, Dr. Ajibola Basiru.
On behalf of my family, supporters, and the good people of Osun Central Senatorial District, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Senator Basiru, the entire Basiru family and all those mourning this painful loss.
The death of a mother is an irreplaceable loss. Mothers are the first teachers, the strongest pillars of the family, and the silent architects of the values and character that shape great men and women.
From Senator Basiru’s heartfelt tribute, my personal knowledge of and relationship with Mama spanning close to 40 years as an extended member of the family, it is evident that Alhaja, as I fondly called her, lived a life defined by faith, sacrifice, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and humanity. Her remarkable legacy will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know her.
At moments like this, we are reminded that while death is an inevitable part of life, the legacy of love, selflessness, and righteous living endure beyond the grave.
I pray that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, forgives her shortcomings, accepts her return, grants her Aljannatul Firdaus, and blesses Senator Basiru, his family, loved ones and all of us with the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
May Alhaja’s gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
