APC CONDEMNS MURDER OF D-G’s NEPHEW, ACCUSES ADELEKE, ACCORD PARTY OF ORCHESTRATING VIOLENCE AND PLAYING THE VICTIM

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council in Osun State expresses deep sadness and utter dismay over the rising wave of politically motivated violence, attacks, and killings masterminded by the Accord Party and agents of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Despite running a campaign of terror that has claimed the lives of close to 40 APC members across the state, the Accord Party and Governor Adeleke continue to play the victim card.
We state unequivocally that the long arm of the law will soon catch up with all perpetrators of these heinous crimes.
Yesterday, our grief was compounded by the gruesome murder of the nephew of Hon. Wole Oke, the Director-General of the APC Campaign Council.
This brutal killing represents a new low in the desperate attempt by our opponents to silence our leadership.
In a similar display of lawlessness, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Wale Egbedun, was openly seen leading thugs right past the frontage of the Okuku Divisional Police Station.
Furthermore, our House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Francis Eniade, was chased by thugs and forced to run into a police station for safety. Shockingly, he and his private security guards were still attacked close to the vicinity of the station.
We find it profoundly shameful that Governor Adeleke continues to create a false public impression that the APC is attacking the Accord Party, the facts speak for themselves: the APC has lost nearly 40 members to these coordinated assaults, while not a single Accord Party member has been reported killed or fatally injured.
In Atakumosa East Local Government, five close associates of Hon. Sanya Omirin were also brutally attacked and injured by these same elements.
We call on the Inspector-General of Police and all security agencies to immediately investigate these incidents, arrest the sponsors of these violent thugs, and restore order to Osun State before the situation deteriorates further.
Signed
Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye
Head, Media and Publicity Committee,
Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council.
