Father-In-Law of Late Dr. Ikenna Erinne Breaks Silence on $15,000 Child Support and Tragic Death

Father-In-Law of Late Dr. Ikenna Erinne Breaks Silence on $15,000 Child Support and Tragic Death

Francis Van-Lare, the father-in-law of the late Dr. Ikenna Erinne, a Nigerian-American doctor who passed away recently, has provided clarity on the reasons behind the significant $15,000 child support order that had been imposed on his son-in-law.

In a Facebook post, Van-Lare addressed the controversy surrounding the matter, responding to claims that the large child support payment may have been a contributing factor to Dr. Erinne’s tragic death.

He emphasized that Dr. Erinne’s medical licenses were never revoked, stating that the doctor had active licenses in Illinois, New York, Virginia, and Maryland, and no state had revoked all of them.

Regarding the child support, Van-Lare explained that the substantial amount was necessary due to the special needs of Erinne’s son, who required ongoing care from various medical facilities and attended a special needs school. He pointed out that courts determine child support based on the parents’ combined income, which was taken into account when setting the support amount.

Van-Lare expressed his disappointment in his late son-in-law’s actions, stating, “He is not a victim, but he failed his children, leaving them without a father. I am grateful that he did not harm my daughter or grandchildren in his turmoil.”

He questioned the logic behind someone taking their own life over financial obligations, adding, “Who in their right mind would end their life over money meant to support their children? He was asked to pay child support, not alimony, as my daughter is financially independent.”

Despite his critical remarks, Van-Lare concluded with a message of condolence, saying, “May his soul rest in peace. My family will take care of his children in

his absence.”
