PRESS STATEMENT
“On the evening of Saturday, 8th February 2025, at approximately 7:00pm, we received the distressing news that a group of gunmen, dressed in black and traveling in a Sienna and a Lexus SUV, forcibly took Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, President of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), in a manner reminiscent of a Neo Mafia Gestapo operation at Works Layout, Owerri, Imo State.
Since the incident, numerous attempts by members of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), his family, friends, and associates to contact him have been unsuccessful. All his mobile phones were immediately switched off after the abduction.
In light of this, the Igbo National Council (INC) is calling on the leadership of the Nigerian Police Force in Imo State to take swift action to identify the perpetrators of this heinous crime and make the information public.
The INC also expresses the confusion and distress felt by his followers, family, and associates, who are eager to know his whereabouts as soon as possible.”
