Osun APC Restoration Forum Condemns Violent Attack on Members, Blasts Adeleke for Dirty Politics

PRESS STATEMENT
OSUN APC RESTORATION FORUM CONDEMNS ATTACK ON MEMBERS IN OSOGBO, BLASTS GOVERNOR ADELEKE FOR DIRTY POLITICS
The Osun APC Restoration Forum has strongly condemned what it described as a vindictive and callous attack allegedly carried out by thugs affiliated with the ruling party against its members and supporters in Osogbo.
The Forum, a popular political sect within the All Progressives Congress (APC) supporting Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), the Osun APC Governorship Candidate, expressed deep concern over an unfortunate incident that occurred while its members were lawfully mounting billboards in support of AMBO.
According to the Chairman of the Forum, Hon. Lukman Abubakre, the individuals engaged to mount the billboards were reportedly attacked with stones, machetes, and charms by suspected thugs linked to the present state government.
He disclosed that some of the victims sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment in the hospital.
Hon. Abubakre condemned Governor Ademola Adeleke and the PDP/Accord alliance for what he described as the encouragement of political intolerance and the suppression of opposition activities. He stated that refusing to allow a level playing ground for all political actors is undemocratic and unbecoming of a government that claims to uphold the rule of law.
“The use of violence, intimidation, and fear to silence opposition is a sign of cowardice and a clear indication of dirty politics. Osun State belongs to all, and no party has the monopoly of political space,” he said.
The Osun APC Restoration Forum therefore calls on security agencies to immediately investigate the incident, bring the perpetrators to justice, and ensure the safety of opposition members across the state.
The Forum also urged the people of Osun State to reject violence and stand firm for democracy, peace, and free political participation.
The Forum reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful political engagement and unwavering support for APC and Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) in the interest of good governance and the restoration of Osun State.
