Soldiers kill Bandits, Seize Weapons in Kaduna Forest

Troops from Operation Whirl Punch have successfully neutralized three bandits during clearance patrols along the Gonna Rogo-Eka axis in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner overseeing the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, announced the operation’s success in a statement on Sunday. He reported that the troops recovered two AK-47 rifles, four magazines, and 81 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition following a fierce encounter with the bandits.

“Troops on clearance patrols neutralized three bandits in the Gonna Rogo-Eka area of Kajuru LGA,” Aruwan stated. “According to operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government, the troops engaged with the bandits and, after an exchange of fire, neutralized three of the criminals.”

The soldiers also searched the area and seized the weapons and ammunition. Governor Uba Sani expressed gratitude for the security forces’ efforts, commending the troops, led by Major General MLD Saraso of the 1 Division Nigerian Army, for their dedication to ensuring a peaceful Eid celebration for the citizens.

“The troops will continue their special fighting patrols within this area and other locations of interest,” Aruwan added.
