Why Former Benue Governor Suswam Threatens to Leave PDP

Gabriel Suswam
Gabriel Suswam, the former governor of Benue State, has issued a warning about potentially leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
His remarks come amid ongoing turmoil within the party at both the national and state levels.
Suswam, who previously represented Benue North as a senator, stated, “Together, we will determine our next steps. If we find alternatives, we will consider them, but this will be a group decision, not just mine.”
He emphasized the need for collective discussions, saying, “We will reconvene to make a joint decision if necessary. Let’s not act as if we are without options; no one here is stranded.”
Additionally, Suswam criticized the party’s national chairman, claiming that his leadership is among the weakest the PDP has ever seen.
